Sustainability – responsibility for nature and the environment

Art in harmony with nature

As a wood artist, I work daily with one of nature's most precious gifts: wood. I take this responsibility seriously. Sustainability isn't just a marketing term for me, but a lived practice in my workshop.

Preference for local woods

Wherever possible, I use local wood species such as oak, beech and cherry.

American walnut is my only "exception" – because of its unique aesthetic qualities.

Minimizing waste

Every piece counts

Nothing is wasted in my workshop:

Large pieces: main sculptures and wall objects
Medium-sized remains: Smaller decorative objects, clocks
Small leftovers: experiments, samples, decorative elements
Sawdust: Composting or as mulch in the garden

Thanks to this strategy, my waste rate is below 10% – well below the industry average.

Natural surface treatment

No harmful chemicals

All my surface treatments are based on natural products:

Linseed oil:

  • Obtained from flaxseed
  • Biodegradable
  • Non-toxic to humans and the environment

Hard wax oil:

  • Based on natural oils and waxes
  • Solvent-free
  • harmless to health

Carnauba wax:

  • Natural plant wax
  • Sustainably sourced
  • Completely biodegradable

These products are not only environmentally friendly, but also healthier for me in the workshop and for you at home.
